Our history in the field of the commercialization and production of Ethanol began in 1920 in Jiquilpan, Michoacán.

The Romero family ventured into the commercialization of Potable Ethyl Alcohol obtained from the fermentation of non-crystallizing sugarcane honeys from the La Hacienda La Guaracha sugar mill, one of the first plantations expropriated in the revolution.

The second generation of the Romero Family expanded the marketing throughout the state of Michoacan with singular success and, the third generation, following the tradition, in 1991 founded the company Alcoholera de Zapopan, S.A. of C.V. in Guadalajara, which is the financial and commercial center of Western Mexico, in order to give their products a national positioning.

Later, in April 2006 the most efficient cane distillery in Mexico was inaugurated, equipped with the latest technology and capable of producing up to 150,000 liters/day of Ethanol with projection for an expansion to 225,000 liters/day.

In December 2010 The Atoyac Power Plant was inaugurated, the first Ethanol Plant with Cane Diffusion in all of Mexico, with the capacity to grind and process 2,500 tons of cane per day.

Thanks to the innovation and constant development that our organization experiences, today, we are considered the leading company in the Ethanol production and commercialization market.
